Curious Dream (2016) (S)
Acrylic on paper and mixed media
4” x 6”
I use the hand-beaded mask as a way to embrace my culture and also reveal the women behind the cover.
I painted this when I was still in Gaza in 2016. I was dreaming of moments of peace and freedom, slowly unraveling hidden sides of my existence, and my femininity, and learning how not to get lost along the way.
